THE CHALLENGE

Event equipment rental operations require more than recording bookings. Equipment availability must be checked across overlapping date ranges, payments need to be verified before operational work proceeds, staff need clear assignments and workflow stages, while booking status, damage, losses, fines, and reporting need to remain connected.

WHAT I BUILT

  1. 01

Role-based access for customers, administrators, and staff within one operational workflow.

  2. 02

Item and package bookings with date-range availability checks and operational buffers.

  3. 03

Deposit, settlement, and fine payment workflows through proof upload and administrator verification.

  4. 04

Automatic work orders, staff assignment, ordered operational progression, and photographic evidence.

  5. 05

Damage or loss handling, stock adjustments, WhatsApp reminders, and web/PDF reporting.

APPROACH

I built a role-based Laravel application for customers, administrators, and staff. The system handles item and package bookings with date-based availability checks, manual payments through proof upload and administrator verification, automatic work-order creation, staff assignment, delivery-to-dismantling progression with photographic evidence, damage or loss and fine handling, stock adjustments, operational reminders, and web/PDF reporting.

Screen 04 Scheduled bookings generate work orders that can be assigned to staff for operational execution.

Screen 05 Staff progress through delivery, installation, dismantling, and work closure with photographic evidence at defined operational stages.
Rental damage loss and fine handling Open screen 06 at full size
Screen 06 Administrators can record damaged or lost items, affected quantities, stock adjustments, and manual fines before completing the booking.

Screen 07 Operational reports summarize rental activity, equipment usage, and fines through web views and PDF output.

OUTCOME

The current implementation connects most of the rental lifecycle within one application. Bookings, payments, work orders, staff operations, equipment availability, damage or loss, fines, and reporting are linked through controlled workflow states and rules.
